GREENSBURG, Pa.,None — A man who led the maintenance department for the Greensburg Salem School District will go to trial after, police say, he was a "major drug trafficker" who supplied cocaine and heroin to lower-level dealers throughout southwestern Pennsylvania.
David Greece's formal arraignment is scheduled for April 13.
Greece, of Unity Township, was arrested last month, along with his wife, Paula, and another woman, Patricia Tuscano. All were jailed on $1 million bond.
The Greeces' daughter, Danett Klejka, told Channel 11 News on Monday that it has been a very difficult time, and she wants her parents' bond lowered.
State police in Greensburg said they don't believe Greece, 53, distributed drugs at schools in the Greensburg-Salem district where he worked.
Police said they seized more than two pounds of cocaine, 42 firearms, $134,000 in cash and $30,000 during related searches. They also seized three vehicles and numerous recreational and maintenance vehicles from Greece.
Neighbors of the Greeces said they're loving grandparents and active in their church.
The Greensburg-Salem School District's superintendent released a statement, saying, "The district is disappointed and obviously concerned. Mr. Greece was immediately placed on indefinite suspension. The safety of our students and staff are the primary concern of the district."
