HAYS, Pa. — The Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania announced that the Hays Bald Eagles laid their first egg.
The egg was found just before 6 p.m. Friday when one of the parents rolled the egg. The eagles are taking turns in the nest incubating the eggs.
Last year, the Hays Bald Eagles laid three eggs on Feb. 13, 16 and 20. One of the three eggs were not viable. The other eggs hatched and fledged the nest late last summer.
Eagles typically lay eggs with 2-4 day intervals between each egg; they hatch in about 35 days
There is another nesting pair of eagles in Harmar.
