PITTSBURGH — Since its opening earlier this year, Heinz History Center’s “We can Do it! WWII” exhibit continues to grow. This time, the addition was a military jacket worn by legendary Hollywoord actor and Indiana, Pennsylvania, native, Jimmy Stewart.

Aside from playing in movies such as “It’s a Wonderful Life” and “The Philadelphia Story,” the famed actor also joined the military in 1941.
The brown leather jacket was loaned to the museum for the exhibit by the U.S. Air Force Museum.
During his time in the military, Stewart flew on 20 bombing runs through Germany as a B-24 combat leader.
