Carl Gilbert, who has had some health problems, was brought to court Thursday by sheriff’s deputies in a wheel chair. He’s accused of raping and impregnating a 14-year-old girl back in the 90s in McKeesport.

His former wife, Matilda Omiecinsky, also faces sex assault and criminal conspiracy charges. Prosecutors said she participated in one of the acts and knew about the others.

Both of them told the judge they were not guilty.

Target 11 also learned prosecutors have ordered a new paternity test because the company that did the original test back in 1998 is no longer in business. The investigation found a paternity test and a document where Gilbert admitted he was the father back in the late 90s, but nothing was ever done.

If convicted, Gilbert faces 120 years in jail. Omiecinsky could face 30 years.
