A woman who lives in the area described what she heard.

"I heard multiple gunshots, quite a few. I'd say anywhere from 8 to 10. And then right after that a very large boom, and I looked out my window and I saw some police cars coming," the woman, who did not want to be identified, said.

The road was shut down for a time as investigators remained at the scene and the vehicle was towed to a city lot.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Additional information has not been released.
