Three men are accused of stealing scrap metal from a local business in Scott Township.
Police said Matthew and Shawn Eperthener and their accomplice John Lonnett tried to cram steel into the trunk of their car.
According to police, the men didn't get far as pieces of steel were sticking out of the trunk, and the car was scraping the ground.
"The bumper was literally dragging on the ground," said Sgt. Jeff Skees of Scott Township.
The owner of Future All Inc. told Channel 11 he called 911 last Sunday after he saw the trio drive away with his property.
Within minutes, police said they had the trio in custody.
The owner said he's grateful to police because he has been ripped off too many times.
