NEW KENSINGTON, Pa. — More than a year after a deadly accident in New Kensington, an Alabama man is facing charges for homicide by vehicle.
Jim Adamson has been charged with homicide by vehicle and careless driving.
Adamson is from Alabama, but was in town at a job site in Vandergrift. It was his first day on the job. Police said he was driving his company truck through New Kensington to get to his hotel and was following his GPS on his phone.
Detectives checked cameras at the intersection last September when this happened. Police said they believe Adamson was looking at his GPS on his phone at the time and admitted he did not know where he was going.
Police said Adamson ran the red light right as Martin Susa, of New Kensington, was coming through on his motorcycle.
Susa died several days after the accident.
