McCandless-Franklin Park Ambulance Authority receives gift from LEFCON for new training room

ALLEGHENY COUNTY, Pa. — The McCandless-Franklin Park Ambulance Authority received a generous gift from a national support company.

LEFCON, LLC is donating all technology services to the authority’s new ambulance training room, named “North Star EMS Training Laboratory.”

North Star is a deconstructed ambulance that has been reassembled into a training room.

It gives students the opportunity to practice emergency medicine in a real ambulance setting.

“We are grateful for LEFCON’s continued partnership and the creative technology they’ve contributed to the new EMS training lab,” said Chris Dell, Chief of MFPAA.  “With this lab, we continue to hone the skills of our providers to better care for our patients and provide the best care possible to the communities we serve.”

A grand opening for the room was held on April 14. The McCandless-Franklin Park service responds to over 9,000 ambulance emergency and non-emergency calls every year.
