PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh’s planning commission voted unanimously to recommend the Oakland Crossing development zoning amendments to Pittsburgh City Council, which gets the final vote.
According to our partners at the Trib, the recommendation comes hand-in-hand with several conditions, including one for the City Council to consider more public input and examine building height requirements and another for the university and college campuses in the area to be excluded from acceptable uses.
The vote came down to a 5-0 approval. Four of the planning commissioners were absent.
According to the Trib, Oakland Crossings is a proposed 17-acre project with a grocery store, 25% increase in urban green space and an elevated pedestrian bridge over the Boulevard of the Allies.
