JEANNETTE, Pa. — Residents in Jeannette are upset after another shooting in the area early Wednesday morning.
According to police, the shooting took place outside QT's Tavern on Penn Avenue and 12th Street Wednesday morning.
Witnesses told Channel 11’s Courtney Brennan that they heard what sounded like a lot of bullets and ducked for safety.
“There was a whole bunch of guys out here just dancing around their vehicle, I think it was a black car parked right here. Then, all at once, we’re over there talking and all you heard was, ‘ping, ping, ping, ping,’” witness Michelle Johnson said.
Authorities said they think an automatic weapon was used because of the amount of bullet holes.
“Everybody was just having a good time, nobody was doing anything wrong, then this car came flying by and just started shooting,” witness Nicole Ickes said.
Investigators said Chad Foster, 18, was hit in the shoulder. His condition has not been released.
Police also said Wednesday's incident was one of several shootings outside the bar in the past six months.
The owner of QT’s said she wouldn’t answer any questions but did say, “They weren’t in the bar and that’s the only comment I’m making.”
Jessica Iapalucci said the violence has gotten so bad that her kids are afraid to ride in her van.
“If you look inside, there’s a bullet hole right there in the van,” Iapalucci said. “Three o’clock in the morning and I get up to go to work and my window is shattered. Kids are always woken up from bullets flying everywhere. It’s just a mess down here.”
No arrests have been made, and police continue investigating.
