PITTSBURGH — An artist who showcased her work this past weekend at “Art All Night” in Pittsburgh’s Lawrenceville neighborhood says someone walked right out the door with one of her paintings.
Of 5,000 pieces on display, Ella McGhee said only one of hers was stolen, and she wants it back.

“It’s 32 inches high by 18 inches wide,” she said. "It's not one you can just tuck under your coat and walk out with. I mean, it's obvious that someone's carrying a painting."
The stolen painting is of an owl and has a wood burned frame that McGhee created herself.
"Out of all those paintings, why would someone choose that?" she said
A friend's daughter posted on Next Door Lawrenceville that the painting was stolen, and the post has since gone viral.
"When you lose a piece like that, it's kind of like losing a little bit of yourself,” McGhee said.
She said she hopes the painting is returned because it's a family favorite and has great sentimental value.
McGhee said she's entered many art shows over the years but has never had a piece stolen.
"One thing that I thought of later was, well if this person really wanted it, I hope it blesses them,” she said.
McGhee told Channel 11 News that she hasn’t filed a police report because the staff at “Art All Night” said the painting might be misplaced. Calls to the organization for comment were not immediately returned.
