Beaver Co. company installs surveillance camera to catch thief

CENTER TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A Beaver County insurance company said they were fed up with being targeted by a thief, so they set up their own surveillance cameras in hopes of catching the person.

Center Township Police Chief Barry Kramer said the company was right and about 10 p.m. Monday a thief used keys to get inside the office and look for things to steal.

"They had several burglaries at the western and southern offices and thought to put in a camera to catch the suspect on video," Kramer said.

According to Kramer, the camera doesn't track everything that happened inside, but after 11 minutes the suspect walks out of the business with nothing but a crowbar in his hand.

Police said the man was looking for small things of value that he could turn quickly for cash.

Anyone who recognizes the man or has information on the situation is asked to contact police.
