Bricks from Dormont house crash onto street

DORMONT, Pa. — Bricks from a row house crashed down in Dormont, forcing a street closure Friday.

"I thought there was a car accident here on the corner," said neighbor Tracey McCaffrey.

Neighbors told Channel 11 bricks were flying on Tennessee Street.

"You don't know if one brick falls offs if they all won't fall," said Mayor Phil Ross.

No one was inside the row houses next door when it happened.

Channel 11 stopped by the same house last month when a pillar on the back of the building gave way.

Neighbors said until the building is torn down, they won't let their children play outside because it's too dangerous.

The mayor said the building must come down, and borough officials are working to find a demolition crew.
