Brothers sentenced for stealing from clients of father's Munhall remodeling company

MUNHALL, Pa. — Two brothers pleaded guilty Thursday to stealing from the homes of clients of their fathers Munhall remodeling company.

Prosecutors said Lucas Devey and Corey Devey stole from several people while fixing up their homes.

“Their dad is like my brother, so we fed them breakfast, lunch … treated them like my own kids,” said Lindsay Nahay, whose home was burglarized by the pair.

The brothers are accused of stealing more than $100,000 in jewelry and other items.

One of the items stolen from Justin Martin’s home was a pendant he had given to his wife for their wedding anniversary, he said.

Most of the people whose homes were burglarized by the brothers went to church with the Devey family.

“He gains credibility by going to church and then slips into their bedrooms and steals their jewelry. He's stealing from his own dying grandmother, in addition to his friends. You are a real danger to the public,” Judge Mariana said of Lucas Devey.

Lucas Devey was sentenced to five to 10 years in prison.

Corey Devey received a prison sentence of 3.5 to seven years.

They also have to pay back the $100,000 in stolen goods.

“They ruined their dad’s reputation as a contractor, and he'll never come back from that. It's just a sad thing,” said Nahay.
