Car salesman accused of stealing $100,000 from former employer

HEMPFIELD TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A local car salesman is facing charges after authorities said he stole $113,000 from his previous employer.

Brandon Varner, 34, was authorized to sell cars for Cerra at an auction in Pittsburgh for almost a year and a half.

State police said a dozen cars were sold during that time.

Varner allegedly created a separate bank account under the business’ name that only he could access.

He tapped the money through his bank card and used it for personal purchases, authorities say.
