PITTSBURGH — A car slammed into the Page’s ice cream truck on Pittsburgh’s South Side early Wednesday morning.
The crash happened in the parking lot of Page’s in the 4100 block of East Carson Street.
It’s unclear what caused the car to veer off the road and into the lot.
No injuries were reported.
Page’s posted surveillance video of the crash on their social media pages following the incident, showing the vehicle slamming into the truck and two people fleeing the scene.
The business owners said they woke up to the devastating news and are still assessing the extent of the damage:
“We worked so hard to bring that truck back to life, and we loved spending our first summer out on the road with it. To have something we put so much time, effort, and love into damaged by someone else’s reckless and careless actions is heartbreaking in more ways than one.
“We’re hopeful that law enforcement will identify those responsible and hold them accountable to the fullest extent of the law.”
