CCAC offering free college credit classes to high school students

PITTSBURGH — The Community College of Allegheny County will now be offering free college credits to high school students.

The college announced on Thursday that students in their second and third years of high school can apply to take the classes. Eligible high school students can choose to take any class in a CCAC program. Courses will be tuition-free and will be offered for the summer 2023 and fall 2023 semesters.

Students who want to take the CCAC classes have to register by June 30. They can begin applying on April 15 and will be able to register if they meet course legibility requirements.

“CCAC continues to expand its role in addressing social and economic challenges in the community, and we are excited to provide, through the EITC program, dually enrolled high school juniors and seniors in Allegheny County the opportunity to earn college credits prior to their high school graduation,” said Dr. Tiffany Evans, CCAC Dean of Students and Interim Enrollment Services Lead Administrator.

Students who want to register for the program can do so on CCAC’s website.
