PITTSBURGH — An academic opinion survey has ranked 2015’s 100 most prestigious universities in the world -- and Carnegie Mellon University, the University of Pittsburgh and Pennsylvania State University made the list.

The Times Higher Education World Reputation Rankings is a compilation of schools, as judged by 10,000 senior academics from across the globe.
In its fifth-annual list, Times Higher Education ranked CMU as the 28th most prestigious university. Penn State is among schools that ranked 61st to 70th, while Pitt was ranked 71st to 80th.
The survey that determined the 2015 rankings received responses from 142 countries between November 2014 and January 2015.
