Connellsville High School math teacher accused of sexting student

CONNELLSIVLLE, Pa. — A Connellsville High School math teacher was arrested Wednesday. He is accused of sending inappropriate text messages to a student.

According to police, a female senior at Connellsville High School told a family member that Kevin Bell, 26, of Mount Pleasant, sent her sexual text messages and videos.

Authorities said through their investigation they found out that Bell and the victim exchanged cellphone numbers earlier this month. Police said Bell contacted the girl via Facebook and he later sent pictures and videos of his genitals to the girl’s cellphone.

According to the criminal complaint, Bell was the accuser’s teacher last year.

Bell is charged with one count of obscene and other sexual materials and performances and one count of corruption of minors, officials said.

Connellsville School District officials said the appropriate steps are being taken to protect the well-being of all of their students.
