The crash happened Tuesday night near Penn Hills.

It was all caught on Ashley Fox’s dash cam. Ashley’s fiancé was driving. They were making a delivery for Roadie, a service that connects drivers with deliveries including luggage and packages.
Fox says the Tesla was struck after the other vehicle hit the truck. The impact deployed all of the Tesla’s airbags and left Fox with a knee injury, scrapes, and cuts. Their vehicle was totaled.
“You can see in the videos he was all the way back, a good 1,000 feet. He had plenty of time to slow down or come to a complete stop before hitting that. He didn’t touch his brakes until he was a few feet from the truck,” Fox said.
The other driver was taken to the hospital. State Police have not said if any charges will be filed.
The dash cam video also shows just how close the vehicle came to three workers who were standing behind the truck.
“That could have meant one of those workers didn’t go home to their family tonight.”
Fox believes the driver may have been distracted, although that has not been confirmed.
Now, Fox is dealing with the aftermath of the crash, including being without the vehicle they rely on to make money.
Fox says their insurance company has not yet issued them a rental car, and they don’t know how long the process will take.
“I’m not sure how we are going to be making money, but at least we are still alive. That’s the important thing.”
Fox’s fiancé made sure the luggage did reach its destination that night.
