Some key winners included Pittsburgh city councilman Ricky Burgess, who now has the chance to keep his seat. He won District 9 with about 45 percent of the vote, defeating Twanda Carlisle.
The former councilwoman previously served jail time on corruption charges.
One of Pittsburgh Mayor Bill Peduto’s biggest critics will likely remain on the City Council as well. Darlene Harris fended off two challengers, winning 47 percent of the vote.
Finally, Chelsa Wagner will also get the chance to keep her title as the Allegheny County controller. She defeated Mark Patrick Flaherty by roughly 5 percent of the vote.
