Driver killed when SUV rear-ends PennDOT snow plow

MERCER, Pa. (AP) — State police said the driver of a sport-utility vehicle has been killed after rear-ending a PennDOT snow plow truck on Interstate 79 in Findley Township.

Police and the Mercer County coroner have yet to release the name of the driver whose Chevrolet Tahoe drove into the southbound plow just after 7 p.m. Sunday at mile marker 119.

Troopers said the vehicle caught fire and spun around after rear-ending the plow. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene by a deputy coroner.

Authorities said the PennDOT driver wasn't hurt.
