PITTSBURGH, Pa. — Pittsburgh Police are investigating after a driver lost control and crashed into the side of a building in Zone 5.
“I heard an engine rev up, he skirted across the street and into the building,” an eyewitness told Channel 11.
Channel 11 followed emergency responders and towing companies as they worked to carefully pull a Subaru from the building.
The car was totaled.

It happened around noon along the extremely busy Washington Boulevard. Pittsburgh Public Safety says the driver managed to free himself from the car and the building. He was rushed to a hospital with a head injury.
At last check, the driver was in stable condition.
A worker was inside the building at the time of the crash, but luckily wasn’t hurt.
“Hope they’re doing well. Hopefully it wasn’t a medical emergency,” said Mike Monz, a driver nearby.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
Officials say the building appears to be structurally safe.
