Gov. Chris Christie takes strong stance against marijuana legalization

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie would "crack down" on marijuana if he ever becomes president, according to an article from "The Huffington Post."

Citing an “enormous addiction problem” in America, Christie said a very clear message must be sent from the White House that “states should not be permitted to sell it and profit” from legalized marijuana.

Christie, who has not yet announced a presidential run, has been a vocal critic of marijuana during his time in office.

According to the most recent polling from the Pew Research Center, a majority of Americans actually disagree with Christie’s stance and feel that the federal government shouldn’t interfere with states that have legalized pot.

Christie made his remarks Tuesday on “The Hugh Hewitt Show.”
