Great Race marks 36th year with record numbers

PITTSBURGH — More than 15,000 people participated in the Pittsburgh Great Race Sunday.

The annual event marked its 36th year with the largest number of participants in its history.

Runners and walkers crossed the finish line at Point State Park after completing either the 5K or 10K race.

Jim Spisak, 22, of Pittsburgh won the men’s 10K.

Clara Santucci, 26, of Dilliner took the top spot in the women’s 10K.

Caleb Muller, 22, of Pittsburgh, and Larissa Park, 33, of Somerville, Mass., were the winners in the 5K.
