PITTSBURGH — Diane Hupp has been named president of UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, replacing Mark Sevco who last year became president of the UPMC hospital system.

Hupp joined UPMC Children’s in 1985, first as a volunteer and later as a bedside nurse before going into administration. She was chief nursing officer and VP of patient care services and operations.

“Delivering the highest level of care to our children and families has been a passion for the majority of my life and I am simply humbled and grateful for the opportunity,” Hupp said in a statement. “The community and beyond needs us now more than ever as we commit to continuing to serve all who seek our care.”
