Lightning strike damages home in Perry North neighborhood

PITTSBURGH — Severe weather caused damage to a  home in Pittsburgh's Perry North neighborhood Tuesday.

A house on Richey Avenue was struck by lightning. The chimney was blown to pieces, and bricks and debris was scattered all over the yard.

Trina Leonard was inside of the home with her husband and mother when the lightning hit.

"I was in the house watching TV with my husband, and all of the sudden we heard this big boom, and the lights went out, and we're like 'What was that?'" Leonard said.

No injuries were reported.
