MANOR TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A wanted man who police say was living under a fake name for years was arrested in Armstrong County.
Manor Township Police said Darrin Anthony Hutchens, 54, was staying at a house on Ludwig. He has been going by “Daniel Michael Malone” since 2021. Police became suspicious when they noticed there were no existing records under that name and the date of birth he had provided.
Hutchens had armed robbery charges filed against him in Butler County.
Officers went to the house at 5:02 p.m. Thursday to follow up. They said a woman in the house admitted Hutchens was inside but still referred to him by his fake name.
Police said Hutchens met them at the staircase with a gun and made numerous threats about a shootout.
The woman, another elderly resident and a child were evacuated.
Negotiators were able to convince Hutchens to surrender peacefully. He was taken into custody just after midnight.
