Mattea Roach’s 23-game Jeopardy! winning streak comes to an end

A popular Jeopardy! contestant’s game winning streak has come to an end after 23 games.

Mattea Roach was defeated by Danielle Maurer, a digital marketing manager from Georgia.

During her winning streak Roach earned $560,983. In the most recent game she earned $15,599, losing the victory by falling just $1 short of her competitor.

“It feels still kind of like a dream,” Roach said. “I really came down here hoping to maybe win one game and so I still can’t believe it. You know, it’s strange, obviously I didn’t come through in the last one, but I still feel so happy and so lucky to have had this experience.”
