McKees Rocks man arrested after traffic stop leads to heroin discovery

PITTSBURGH — A man from McKees Rocks was arrested after he was pulled over for a traffic stop and officers discovered suspected heroin stamp bags in his car.

According to police, Sheriff’s deputies pulled over 26-year-old Jaron Allen around 8:30 p.m. on Dec. 17. They noticed his vehicle crossing over double line on multiple occasions nearing the Route 51 exit ramp on West Carson Street.

The car was also following another vehicle at an unsafe distance considering the roadway conditions due to inclement weather, a release said.

When police pulled Allen over, he reportedly began acting nervously and said he didn’t have a driver’s license. He then gave consent for the officers to search his car.

According to police, they discovered a blue shopping back beneath the driver’s seat with suspected heroin stamp bags visible shortly after they began their search.

Allen was immediately placed into custody.

After returning to the Sheriff’s Office, Deputies counted 1,000 alleged stamp bags of heroin with the marking “SHOW TIME” on them.

Allen was transported to the Allegheny County Jail, pending arraignment on the charges of prohibited acts – possession with intent to deliver, prohibited acts – possession, driving on roadways laned for traffic (3), driving while operating privilege suspended or revoked, following too closely, and careless driving.
