CARRICK, Pa. -- A Carrick man is furious after a neighbor’s dog attacked five of his, leading to one of them having to be put down.
Albert Gallagher said his family returned from a cookout to find the pit bull that lived across the street attacking his five dogs.
One of the dogs had to be put down and Gallagher said the other four require almost $5,000 in medical bills.
“She was torn to pieces. He destroyed my little dog,” Gallagher said. “I came home to find him right here at my feet. My house was covered with blood and the curtains were down. This window was open and he came in right through the screen.”
Gallagher is also upset that Animal Control didn’t take the pit bull. Authorities said the dog was not deemed dangerous by a judge.
“I just want justice for Isabella. She didn’t deserve what she got in that house. That poor little thing,” Gallagher said.
William Johnson owns the pit bull and said Gallagher’s son allowed the dog inside the house.
“I think their son put the dog in their house thinking it would be OK,” Johnson said. “I sold (the pit bull) anyways. He’s probably in Florida now.”
Johnson was given a citation for the dog not having rabies shots, and Animal Control said he was also cited for having a dangerous dog and letting it run loose.
