New Kensington grocery store to close at end of April

NEW KENSINGTON, Pa. — The Shop 'n Save in New Kensington will be closing for good at the end of April, according to our partners at TribLive.com.

The store’s co-owner, Lauren Breter, said the Central City Plaza store will shut down after decreased sales in recent years. Breter told TribLive.com the closure is not related to the coronavirus pandemic.

She said large nearby stores are direct competitors and the situation has become an expensive challenge. About 15 employees will be affected by the closure.
