NEW KENSINGTON, Pa. — A brutal beating left a New Kensington man facing aggravated assault charges and the victim in a hospital with serious injuries.
”This has been one hell of an experience for me,” said Jeff Stanley.
Stanley is in the ICU with multiple broken bones, a brain bleed and nearly 30 staples in his head after his neighbor allegedly beat him with a brick Monday in New Kensington.
“Chris came knocking on my front door and me, being that I take care of both homes, I opened the door and he said, ‘Hey something’s going on over here, can you come take a look at it?’,” Stanley said.
Stanley’s neighbor and tenant, Christopher Perry, lives right next door.

He is charged with aggravated assault after police said the attack left Stanley bleeding from the head Monday morning, the same day as Stanley’s 50th birthday.
“All of a sudden, I get hit right in the back of the head with a brick — split my head wide open and kept beating me with that brick,” Stanley explained.
A witness across the street said he saw Perry hit him 4-5 times, before throwing the brick at him.
Both Stanley and witnesses said the attack was completely unprovoked.
“I couldn’t believe it. I’ve never ever fought with the guy. We’ve never had even a partial argument,” Stanley said.
Stanley said his roommate had a strange encounter with the suspect minutes before the attack, but said Perry is normally a nice guy and cannot make sense of why this would happen.
“I feel bad about that but I can’t live my life in fear of something like this happening again,” Stanley said.
Stanley said he likely has a couple more days in the hospital before he can come home.
Perry remains in jail. He is due in court next week.
