Man, 21, killed in East Hills shooting; Shooter remains at large

PITTSBURGH — Investigators are still looking for the person who fatally shot a 21-year-old man in the East Hills early Sunday morning.

According to police, Demaun Kenney was found with multiple gunshot wounds on the kitchen floor of a home on East Hills Drive about 3 a.m. Sunday

He was pronounced dead before he could be taken to a hospital, authorities said.

On Monday, Channel 11 talked with a producer who said Kenney had a great future.

"If you look at the videos on YouTube, the numbers don't lie.  He was really on his way, dealing with industry artists such as Wiz (Khalifa)," said producer Jason Minor.

Minor produced two new songs with Kenney just a few weeks ago and said the 21-year-old was looking forward to releasing his new album over the holidays.

"He was a very cordial, very respectful person when he came here to my studio, and it's sad in my heart," said Minor.

Kenney’s brother was injured in the incident after being cut by glass, investigators said. According to police, he was taken to Allegheny General Hospital on the North Side.

Police have no suspects.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the homicide squad at 412-323-7161. Callers may remain anonymous.
