Pittsburgh EMS paramedics rescue newborn kittens

PITTSBURGH — Paramedics with Pittsburgh EMS rescued six newborn kittens.

According to a Facebook post, a woman was calling for help outside of the station in Marshall-Shadeland on Tuesday. When paramedics got to the door, the woman showed them a box full of newborn kittens.

The kittens had their umbilical cords wrapped around their necks and couldn’t move or breathe. Two of them had placenta covering their airways.

Two paramedics grabbed equipment and were able to cut all of the cords, and saved the litter.
