Police confiscate suspected synthetic marijuana from Avalon store

AVALON, Pa. — Police said they confiscated what they believe is synthetic marijuana from a store in Avalon.

Investigators said they believe K2 was found inside the Avalon Mart on California Avenue.

Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett signed a law last year banning all bath salts, K2 and synthetic marijuana in the state of Pennsylvania.

Avalon police said they sent the chemicals to a lab for testing and charges could be filed if tests prove the substance is in fact, K2.

If it is the banned drug, K2, intent to deliver the designer drug is punishable by up to five years in prison and a $15,000 fine.
