Allegheny County police said Tuesday that Jerome Jamie Jones and Montell Jerome Mitchell are wanted in connection with the incident that took place at the shopping center on S Braddock Avenue around 3 p.m. last Thursday.

One person was shot in the hand during the shooting.

According to Allegheny County Police Lt. Tom Ianachione, Jones, 22, and Mitchell, 19, were inside the Villa shoe store when the victim and another man entered the business. At that time, surveillance video from inside the store shows Jones and Mitchell pulling out their guns and opening fire.

“It appears both our actors, Jones and Mitchell, brandish firearms from waistband and started shooting at him,” said Ianachione.

The victim ran toward the front of the store, while the man he was with ran to the back of the store. Jones and Mitchell followed the victim out the front of the store and continued firing shots until the victim left in a vehicle. Jones and Mitchell drove off in another vehicle, according to Ianachione.

Police said Jones and Mitchell should be considered armed and dangerous.

Authorities said in addition to bullets being found at the Villa shoe store, some were also discovered at the Footlocker and a nearby Wendy’s.

Detectives recovered 40 caliber shell casings, a grey sweatshirt that matched the one reportedly worn by Jones and a hairbrush. A 9 mm pistol, which was reported stolen back in 2013, was also found at the scene.

“The shopping center was full - lots of people patronizing the stores. There could've very easily resulted in worse consequences,” said Ianachione.

County police said Housing Authority officers were able to identify Jones and Mitchell from the surveillance video from inside the Villa shoe store.

Anyone with information about either man’s whereabouts is asked to contact police.
