BUTLER, Pa. — A Westmoreland County man remains hospitalized after police say he jumped out a window to avoid officers.
Authorities say the suspect had a substantial amount of heroin inside his home, and he was doing all he could to get away.

The Butler County Drug Task Force, along with Butler City Police, raided one of the apartments inside a house on W. Diamond Street Wednesday night.
“Police came running up the stairs. There were flash bangs and everything,” said Sylvia Hulings.
Hulings, who lives in one of the apartments, says she had no idea a man in her building was allegedly selling heroin.
Authorities said they made two arrests rather quickly, but one guy jumped out a back window. Once he was taken into custody, officers found heroin, crack cocaine and $1,300 in cash on him.
“We’re doing our best. Our guys are trying to get drugs out of this community,” said Butler City Mayor Tom Donaldson.
Police say they took $8,000 worth of heroin off the streets and made three arrests. The suspect in the hospital will be charged when he recovers.
