Porch roof collapse displaces 15 in Shadyside

PITTSBURGH — At least 15 people were displaced Thursday afternoon after a porch roof collapsed in Shadyside.

According to Allegheny County emergency dispatchers, no injuries were reported in the collapse that occurred about 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of Elmer and Bellefonte streets.

Officials said the debris from the collapse spilled onto a second building.

Pittsburgh Bureau of Building Inspections investigators examined the structures and decided the residents should be evacuated. There’s no word when the residents will be allowed back inside.
