LA BELLE, Pa. (AP) — An employee has been charged with having sex with an inmate at a state prison in southwestern Pennsylvania.
State police haven't released details beyond announcing the arrest of 38-year-old Natalie Ketchem late Thursday. She was arraigned Friday on three counts of institutional sexual assault.

Ketchem worked as a food service instructor, teaching inmates to make the food at the State Correctional Institution-Fayette.
She hid her face and didn't comment as she walked past reporters in handcuffs late Thursday.

It's illegal for prison employees to have even consensual sex with inmates, because the law states prisoners don't have the freedom to consent to sex with their captors.
Online court records don't list an attorney for Ketchem.
A corrections spokeswoman an investigation by the prison's security office led to the charges. Ketchem was hired in 2007, but has been suspended.
