None — PITTSBURGH -- A mild winter could lead to a smoother ride this spring for drivers in Pittsburgh.
Officials said the city has spent less than expected on rock salt, so those extra savings could be used for repaving and resurfacing projects.
Mayor Luke Ravenstahl said he is optimistic the city could end up with extra money.
“Of course, there’s still a month ahead of us yet and in March we’ve had some bad storms before,” Ravenstahl said. “But you never know what lies ahead and there are plenty of needs on our roads.”
Ravenstahl said if the winter stays calm, the city could save about $1 million on snow removal.
