McCANDLESS, Pa. — The North Hills teenager who became an Internet sensation when his plans for a party, called the Ross Morgan Rager, went viral was arrested last week.
According to police, Ross Morgan and some friends were arrested in McCandless last Thursday after attending an underage drinking party.
Authorities said the homeowner was out of town at the time of the party and had no idea kids were inside his house.
“I assume they got in through a window,” neighbor John Cunningham said.
Police said Morgan was one of nearly a dozen teens arrested for underage drinking and trespassing.
“It sounded like an episode of 'Cops.' You hear the banging, and police saying, ‘Get on the ground, don’t move,’” Cunningham said. “Kids were running down steps and out the back door.”
Morgan, Drew Miller, Cory Stearns and Samuel Vins were the only 18-year-olds arrested. The other seven facing charges were 16 and 17.
Cunningham’s wife, Jessica, said she was surprised the teens picked a townhouse to have their party.
“The only window on townhouses accessible from the ground is the kitchen window,” Jessica Cunningham said. “I don’t know how they thought they could get away with something like that without anybody noticing, especially in a town home community.”
According to police, the teens initially said they were invited to the house by two girls who lived there, but later said they knew she was too young to give permission.
Morgan and his friends gained the limelight instantly in May when their plan for a party went viral on Twitter and YouTube. The party never happened and Morgan called it a joke.
