Simon Property Group working to bring Dick’s House of Sport to Ross Park Mall

PITTSBURGH — Indianapolis-based Simon Property Group is changing its redevelopment plans at Ross Park Mall and turning to the new concept store of one of the region’s biggest retailers to do it.

A development team for Simon Property Group presented a proposal to establish a new Dick’s House of Sport store at Ross Park Mall as part of its redevelopment of its empty Sears store there, according to a community development official for Ross Township.

After presenting the new proposal to the Ross Township Planning Commission last week, the Simon team is scheduled to bring the new plan before a township commissioners meeting on June 20.

Simon didn’t respond for comment and Dick’s declined to comment.
