Staff member, school police officer injured during incident at Arsenal Middle School

PITTSBURGH — A staff member and school police officer suffered minor injuries during an incident at Pittsburgh’s Arsenal Middle School.

Pittsburgh police, school police and paramedics responded to the school along 40th Street in Lawrenceville around 10 a.m.

A spokesperson for Pittsburgh Public Schools provided the following statement:

A Pittsburgh Arsenal student in crisis has been transported to Western Psychiatric Hospital following a disruption at the school that resulted in a staff member and school police officer receiving minor injuries. Following the incident, the school day proceeded as scheduled.
