HARMAR TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Police arrested a man accused of beating his ex-girlfriend with a baseball bat in Harmar Township.
Authorities said Kevin McCallum was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon after a warrant had been issued for his arrest.
According to police, the attack happened Tuesday night along Freeport Road near the Harmer Village assisted living center as the woman, who is a nurse, and her friends were outside on a smoke break.
Officials said the victim suffered a shattered knee, broken arm and head trauma. She is currently at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.
McCallum, who police said has an extensive criminal history, was taken to the Allegheny County Jail.
