SWAT teams respond to home of retired Pittsburgh police officer

PITTSBURGH — SWAT teams and police negotiators were called to a Pittsburgh home Wednesday morning after a retired Pittsburgh police officer threatened to harm herself.

Police said they were called to the Ivory Avenue home just before 8:30 a.m. when the woman, whose name has not been released, threatened to harm herself.

Officials said the woman’s husband was also home at the time, but he wasn’t injured.

The woman eventually surrendered peacefully and authorities haven’t released any other information about the situation.

No charges are pending.
