Information obtained by the Drug Task Force indicated that Robert Scott, 62, of Clairton, would be transporting a large amount of heroin via his SUV into the McDonald/Cecil Township area.
Investigators identified the vehicle and driver, then conducted a traffic stop.
Upon further investigation they discovered and seized an excess of 65 bricks of heroin (3,281 stamp bags), a quantity of cocaine, packaging material, and additional drug paraphernalia associated with the repackaging of cocaine.
Scott was taken into custody by the Drug Task Force and charged with possession with the intent to deliver heroin and cocaine, possession of heroin and cocaine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was transported to the Washington County Jail and is awaiting arraignment.
"This is an important arrest for the residents in the McDonald and Cecil Township areas. We recently have had problems with heroin in the McDonald/Cecil area and to get this large of an amount of heroin off the streets is a huge accomplishment for law enforcement," said Eugene Vittone, Washington County district attorney.
