UPPER BURRELL — Daniel Moles was in court Tuesday for a preliminary hearing for the sole count of criminal homicide in the shooting death of Randy Jenereaux.
The preliminary hearing was delayed for two months because of a mental health evaluation.
The judge held all charges for court.
Moles sat in court stoically and didn’t have anything to say to our cameras after the hearing.
The deadly shooting happened inside Woodpeckers Pub and Grill in Upper Burrell in November.
Moles allegedly fired two rounds across the bar in the direction of Jenereaux.
TRENDING NOW:
The Upper Burrell Police Chief, who responded that night, took the stand Tuesday.
He testified as to what he saw on surveillance video as the shooting played out inside the bar.
He said you could see Moles raise a gun and aim it at the Jenereaux twins.
A bullet hit a beer glass in front of Randy, causing it to explode.
The other slug was lodged in a panic bar on a door inside the bar.
The chief said the Jenereaux boys were scrambling for the door by the time the second shot rang out.
A few good Samaritans inside the restaurant tackled and disarmed Moles moments after it happened.
Randy’s mom and twin brother were in court. They did not want to comment on camera, but said they still can’t make sense of all of this.
Randy’s twin brother said he hopes Moles gets what he deserves.
Randy’s mom told us he was her greatest accomplishment.
Both said they are so appreciative of the community support they have seen since this happened.
The defense did not make any motions.
Moles is expected to be back in court March 30 for his formal arraignment.
