CLAIRTON, Pa. — A woman was hit by a car while trying to run from gunshots in Clairton early Thursday.
Authorities told Channel 11 News the driver of the car was also trying to escape from the gunfire on Waddell Avenue shortly after 1 a.m.

“As we arrived on the scene, people were fleeing on foot and in vehicles,” Clairton police Sgt. Jim Carozza said.
Authorities said a graduation party was taking place when shots rang out.
The woman who was hit by a car was taken to the hospital and was not seriously hurt.
Police said they believe someone fired the shots from a car, but right now they have no suspects.
“We've had numerous people explain what occurred but nothing at this particular time that points to the suspect or suspects with concrete information,” Carozza said.
