CORAOPOLIS, Pa.,None — A man was severely injured after a tree fell on him in Coraopolis late Tuesday morning.
Witnesses told Channel 11 News that the accident happened at the Coraopolis Beagle Club. Police said the man was cutting down trees in the back of the building.
According to witnesses, the man turned away after cutting a tree down and it hit him in the back of the head. The tree knocked the victim unconscious. Police said another man gave the victim CPR while they waited for emergency responders to arrive.
"There was no response from him at all," said George Logue, friend of the victim. "We were felling some trees out there. He was standing in the wrong position and he couldn't move fast enough to get out of the way."
When medics arrived, they said the victim as conscious and alert. He was flown by medical helicopter to a Pittsburgh hospital. His condition has not been released.
